Making of Audrey Hepburn
Model Yaël travelled all the way from Maastricht to Studio Leiden (3 hours) to work with Alexander and me on a wonderful shoot with lots of variety.
Somewhere at the end she talked about a poster of Audrey Hepburn she has hanging on her bedroom wall. Alexander and I never saw this poster or the picture, so Yaël described it to us. Alexander did a terrific job in styling her hair and make up just as she described and I tried to set up the lighting as they often did in the fifties. Yaël doesn´t smoke, but Audrey had a cigarette on the poster, so Yaël should as well.
We did a shot or ten, with this one as the best result.
I made some fifties toning in Photoshop and Alexander removed some loose hair in PS. Great teamwork. Not only during the shoot, but after that as well.

@Michael, it’s such a shame she lives that far away. Would love to see her more often in the studio. This girl has definitely talent + taste! Haven’t meet many girls of her age, nor older ones, who are (with their taste) into fifties either… and to be perfectly honest, before this shoot I had no idea who Audrey Hepburn was! But as Yael wrote me Audrey’s name on a piece of paper, I did Google images search as soon as I’ve got home - and I was astonished how close we came. — Cheers buddy! –

Hey Alexander, just found out the other day, somewhere in a bookstore, that it wasn’t a pic of Audrey Hepburn of which Yaël told us about. It was Katherine Hepburn! I saw the original pic in a book about her. Are we stupid or what!? Haha.

@Michael dude, a little bit of doubt is good, too much of it is unhealthy. ;-)
Not sure but I still think we’re not stupid, whatsoever. :))
I definitely remember Yael noted Audrey’s name on that piece of paper she gave me. And if we are indeed that stupid, then Google must be even more stupid then we are… which is POSSIBLE,

Check this link: http://images.google.nl/images?um=1&hl=nl&q=audrey+hepburn out! The one with the sigaar is thus Audrey!
And when I google on images of “Katherine Hepburn”, such a pic doesn’t appear at all.
So, I definitely believe Yael meant Audrey…
