Cybergothic predator girl, VelvetBat
No idea how comes that this cute gothic model VelvetBat wasn’t discovered before. It seems she gets more often photographed on the streets of Amsterdam then in the studio, as this was her second shoot ever! But she is young, so it’s still not too late.
The way I saw her standing in a front of the camera can mean only one thing: besides her dreadlocks and cybergothic clothes (which she designs and makes herself!), she moves like a professional. No need for photographers instructions, whatsoever. And above of all, she enjoyed the shoot (a whole afternoon) with 3 photographers entirely.
Of what I heard yesterday and read on her site today, she: plays celtic harp, danses on (cyber)gothic parties, designs dreads (hair-falls) and cybergothic clothes, builds the websites and now also doing photoshoots.
Fascinating & very creative soul.
Way to go girl! Be a predator!
Predator
Amazingly enough, none of the crew had seen Predator movie, but me. So I didn’t bother to bugg them more on that. She’s just like in the movie, the only difference is that she collects different “Asian Ball Jointed dolls“ (and designs their clothes and dreads too!), in stead of collecting different species all across the universe.

Yesterday after the shoot, we went to a Chinese restaurant to have a dinner and then of course to a pub and when our group became smaller and smaller, Jan-Paul’s girlfriend Saskia told me a story of how VelvetBat was offered to pose for Linda magazine, but she refused. When asked why, she said: “it’s not my magazine!”
… which I think is very cute! ;-)

She has very unique and fashionable attire but I really do not like it. Maybe, some people will like her outfit and the style that she has.

Some really nice photography ideas here. Love the colorful dreads on a Gothic look; also interesting photo perspectives and artwork.
