Fooled
When I was a teenager, I learned from the girls one very important thing. Once you get a status of a “friend” in girl’s life, you’re dismissed! Means further you’re no (longer) someones sexual fantasy, nor you make a chance of becoming a partner some day, except that in some cases you ‘might be’ a part of (her) “reserve pool”.
… which however doesn’t mean that all friendships are based on broken interests. Some friends become friends, because he/she is a boyfriend or girlfriend of an existing friend.
Also in this case, as far as I’m concerned, sexual/relational interest is out of question. Well, mostly.. ;-) as of course, it doesn’t mean my friends are not attractive to me (anymore) or they might not become attractive to me some day, although the chance is small.
I will however always notice when some of my friends are nicely dressed or they wear nice makeup, have beautiful jewelry, or similar. So it’s always handy, such a friendship, like for exchanging the information for instance: “Where did you buy it? How much did it kost? Cool makeup.. which products did you use for such an effect?”
Anywayz, does it mean wee’re being fooled by our (broken) sexual interests? Are the friendships in between man and a woman mainly the products of being fooled? These are tough questions!
Either way, when people ask me (as they often do) are men also being fooled by a makeup, in a way that women appear to be more beautiful then they in reality are?… my standard answer is: NO! Oh well, it depends on the way you look at it. In my perception it’s not the goal of a makeup artist to make models look more beautiful then they in reality are.. but to make sure their natural beauty comes forward! So, as a makeup artist, I’ll not give a model something she doesn’t have, but I’ll put more accent on what she already has.
Yesterday morning I received sms from photographer Henk, telling me that something (bad?) happened, so our second photoshoot with model Naomi for that day is being canceled.
After I took a shower and had some easy breakfast, I went to “Zwarte Markt”.
Buying new makeup (or even clothes), is one of the best cures I know for for the moments when things go wrong or they just don’t go the way we want.
The original makeup brands do not have to be expensive
The original makeup brands (as Pupa) do not have to be expensive! The low prices are possible because (among other) the product remnants are being bought from bankruptcies, the products have sometimes slightly damaged packaging and the involved companies are active in remnants of importers. That’s what Zwarte Markt is all about.
Pupa makeup
Once at Zwarte Markt, I went to a hall 2. I remember there was a makeup store there with Pupa products.
Me: Sir, I’d like to have two bottles of this fluid foundation please.
Pupa salesman dude: I’m sorry, it’s the last one I have.
Me: Alright, then I’ll have only that one. How about this eyeshadow set, how much does it kost?
Pupa salesman dude: Blah blah blah..
Me: Nice. I’ll have this one, this one, this one……….. and this one.
Pupa salesman dude: You’re a make-up artist, aren’t you?!
Me: Yes I am.
Pupa salesman dude: Alright, if you take one more, then you have ten of them and I’ll give you one more for free.
Me: If you insist…

| Pupa make-up I bought. |
Bling, bling! € 42,-
…. Which is just nice. If I’d bought them in a regular shop, it would cost me € 180,- euro, at least!
For orientation: if I’d buy Pupa Fluid Notransfer Foundation in a regular shop, it would cost me approximately € 26,- per (30 ml) bottle.
On Zwarte Markt it’s only € 6,- a bottle… go figure!
Pupa eyeshadows and foundation I bought

So it was a good shopping day for you on “Zwarte Markt?” haha ;-)
Nice stuff the make up from Pupa.
I like the extrapearl and the multi effect duo eyeshadow.
And it’s so much cheaper than in a normal store.
I see you Friday :-)
