As far as I could see it back in the site statistics, it was very crowdy on WTA site lately. 31 October was the most crowdy, with 1386 visitors a day. It wasn’t that difficult to figure out why. Halloween, what else!

With such an amount of visitors, maybe I should watch out what I write whaha.

People were searching for Halloween make up pictures and naturally, they landed on WTA site.

Last year I’ve done a couple of different Halloween make up’s (Heidy I transformed into a vampire), but this year I did only one. Heidy again, and this year I gave her Pirate of Caribbean, Jack Sparrow look.

Heidy as a vampire, which was my first Halloween make up ever.

She came a bit late in the evening, around 22.00 hours, so we didn’t really have that much time, an hour and 15 minutes in total or so… but we were both glad with the result. As soon as make up was finished, I took Heidy to cafe Scheiwijck to test my make up on men over there of course. And as soon as we were in, she was at once accompanied by 3 other men… They called her “Jack”. :)

After we finished our drinks, and my test turned out to be positive, we left the crowd and went to a Halloween party together, which was as every year, in (hard)rock cafe Asgard.

Making of Jack Sparrow

The trick that works while making captain Jack Sparrow or Pirate of Caribbean in common, is quite simple but effective.

  • face shaping
  • obvious strong black eyeliner
  • pirates beard and mustache

Clothing and hair styling will help too, but are not essencial. I think I’ve put Jack Sparrow accurately for about 90%, so we were more then satisfied.

Heidy and I thought the other day, it would be nice to do also Jack Sparrow pin-up shoot. Photographer Michael agreed. It’s gonna be an adventure with a girl, playing a guy character! And it’s gonna be a challenge to make it look real.

For visible pin-up improvement, I think the following is needed:

  • Stronger face shaping (Heidy is a girl after all :))
  • Better pirates clothes
  • Better (less fake) beard and mustache
  • Better (studio) “Low Key” pictures
  • Convincing shoot angles

This way I think we could make Jack 100% accurately.

Jack Sparrow pictures

These pictures are made at my home and with my small traveler camera, thus no studio lights, good studio backgrounds, good camera nor anything in that direction..
